OVERVIEW
Tre Cime, Cinque Torri, Tofana – big mountain days in the Dolomites and alpine mountaineering mean moving over rock, snow and ice, often in severe conditions and difficult terrain.
The Ortles Ascent Mid Gore-Tex® mountain boot is a solid solution for alpine mountaineering. Made from thick suede leather upper, its SALEWA® 3F System with steel cables and reinforced rand make it exceptionally robust and durable. For improved firm, there is a stiff carbon-loaded nylon fibreglass insole, while the dual density expanded polyurethane midsole allows enhanced stability and comfort. In addition, the customizable Multi Fit Footbed Plus (MFF+) has interchangeable layers that allow you to further fine-tune the volume.
The waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX® Insulated Comfort membrane has an integrated insulation layer, which helps keep feet warmer and dryer in winter conditions in the mountains. And the stretch gaiter, at the tongue prevents snow from entering over the cuff. For additional downhill performance, the Flex Collar also further improves rear ankle flexion, while the Ankle Protector System (APS) with its thermoformed material heel cuff provides additional support.
The Vibram® Alpine Guide sole unit is engineered for traction, durability and reliability on difficult terrain at low temperatures with semi-crampon compatibility for improved precision and stability in tough conditions. Its profile features self-cleaning tread lugs for outstanding grip and a climbing toe profile for high edging performance.
